Need more information on medical and online esthetician schools? Check here.

If you are at least 16 years of age then you are of legal age to enroll in any esthetician school in the state of Florida. There are many of these schools that offer all kinds of advanced courses and training exercises, despite the fact that the state’s Board of Cosmetology has mandated that only 260 total hours of training need be completed.

This kind of training offers many different ways for individuals to learn everything that they could ever want to know about skin care. These schools offer training courses in subjects such as facial massage, hair removal, exfoliation, nutrition, skin analysis, business skills, career planning, alternative facial techniques, and much more. With esthiology schools all over the state Florida is a perfect place to study to be a licensed, professional esthetician.

When you have completed school and are ready to apply for your certification, you can do this in one of two different ways. You can either apply online or by downloading, printing out, and filling out a paper application. If you choose to submit a paper application, you will need to ensure that you also provide an $85 application fee (as of 2016-2017), proof that you have completed a Board-approved HIV/AIDS course, the Certification of Eligibility portion of your application from your school, and documentation regarding previous course evaluations.

If you hold a skin care specialty license from another state, you will likely be able to apply for your license solely based on endorsement. For this, you must be at least 16 years old, have a license with similar or greater regulations as Florida, a high school diploma, 260 hours of necessary education, and other requirements.

Your specialist license must be renewed by October 31st each year, and you must also pay a $55 fee (current as of 2016-2017). The state Board of Cosmetology also mandates that you complete at least 16 hours of supplemental education every two years. This is something that you will be responsible for documenting. Licensed estheticians enjoy a rewarding career either working for themselves or in an established salon.
