How Long Are Schooling Requirements For Cosmetology In WV?
To complete your cosmetology education, you’ll need to take a course that is at least 1000 hours long for a hairstylist, and 1800 hours for a cosmetologist. Procedure For Getting Your West Virginia Cosmetology License
To get your license, you’ll need to pass two exams.

West Virginia has reciprocity agreements with several states.

However, you could make up the hours in work experience. One month of work experience equals 25 hours of education, up to 50% of your education requirements.
You will still need to complete the West Virginia law exam, and to do that, you’ll need the Out-of-State Exam application.
How To Renew Your West Virginia Cosmetology License
WV requires you to renew your license every year.
You are required to earn 4 hours or 4 credits of continuing education per year to keep your license active. Your date of renewal is December 31st. You can apply for renewal online, and pay the fee there as well.
