Hours Required At Nail Tech Schools in Arkansas
Arkansas is home to a number of good schools at which you can nail technician schools. It also has a state board of cosmetology that regulates — along with the health board — the beauty industry including nail tech training and aspects of nail salons like their equipment and safety.
Nail students in AR require 600 hours of training to qualify to take the licensing exams. You must also be 16 years of age or older and have finished grade ten.
Licensing Exams For AR Nail Professionals
Testing will consist of theory and practice.
The practical exam takes place in Little Rock and must be passed before you can take the written portion.
Once exams are passed all that is needed is a licensing fee and receipt of your license then you are qualified to work! Note that you if you pass the exams the state board will send you your license automatically.
Every two years you will need to pay a fee to get re-licensed, but there are no continuing education requirements at this time.
Classes will focus on developing a skillset and learning to use the tools of the trade. You learn:

There are predicted to be plenty of good jobs for beauty school graduates in the coming years with nail job growth in AR expected to outpace growth in other types of employment.
