Find out more about studying to be a nail technician here.
Ontario accounts for most of Canada’s population at 40%. It’s also home to Toronto the nation’s biggest city with 2.8 million people. As such, you can expect to find the greatest choice of places to train to be a nail tech as well.
For a selection of Ontario schools check the listings we’ve researched below to get assistance deciding where you’d like to train to become a ONT professional.
Do You Need A License?
There is no cosmetology board that does certification or licensing for nail techs in Ontario. Customers requiring nail work must then depend on word-of-mouth and recommendations in order to feel confident that they are getting service from a competent professional.
Fortunately, due to the rise in online reviews, one can get some information (although it may not be entirely dependable) about prospective salons before going. Unlike many places, especially in the USA, you can’t request to see a license so that you know the nail tech has passed stringent cosmetology board exams — both written and practical — before they work on you.
Also take a look at the supplies you’ll need — including tools and equipment — in order to do your nail training, and see some techniques you’ll learn in your academy.
