North Dakota has the nickname “Peace Garden State” due to the fact that it has the Peace Garden on the border with Manitoba, Canada.  It’s one of the must-see attractions in the state.

What You Need To Do In Order To Get Licensed In North Dakota

ND has licensing requirements if you’d like to become a cosmetologist. You’ll need to train for 1800 hours at a board-approved school before attempting the licensing exams. Unlike some states apprenticing to be a beautician is not allowed. First things first, though… locate a school using our app below…

Once you’ve completed your exams and have your license you’ll still be required to renew every year for a not-insignificant cost. Presently there are no continuing education requirements for renewal.

Those who already possess a license to practice in another state will be able to simply pay the fee and get a license as long as length and content of training is similar to that required in ND. If not, you may need to take the ND licensing tests before getting employed.

Because cosmetologists study a variety of beauty techniques they are more employable than those who focus on just one aspect of beauty care. For instance, a nail tech will learn everything there is to know about nails, but next to nothing about hair. A cosmetologist will learn about nails as well as hair and makeup. On the other hand a nail tech’s knowledge of nail care will be greater, and probably their skill as well.

Some pupils will decide to do cosmetology just so they get a taste of each different beauty discipline. After they graduate they will then have a better idea about which area of beauty they like best and can go on to specialize during their career.

Once you have your license finding work can be done with the aid of your school or through job search sites like jobsnd.com.

Also, did you know you can get an early start in your beauty training… at high school?
