Licensing Out-Of-State

Florida doesn’t have a transfer or reciprocity agreement with other states. To apply for a licence by endorsement, you must hold a facial specialty or esthetician license in another state, prove that it is currently active, and in good standing, and prove that you have completed at least two hundred and sixty hours of study.

You must also prove that you have completed a Board-approved HIV/AIDS course within at least two years of submitting your application. Endorsement licenses are granted on a case-by-case basis.

Renew Your License

You must renew your license before October 31st every other year. The Board requires you to complete at least 15 hours of continuing education during this period, so, yes, you’ll need to go back to school from time to time. Check the website to find the approved list of continuing education providers. Document and maintain a record of your continuing education hours.

Work Opportunities

Florida’s beauty industry is always changing.

You could be working a salon one day, a luxury spa another, and even taking part in Florida’s entertainment industry and night life.

Because you are encouraged toward continuing education thanks to Florida’s licensing requirements, you will always be upgrading your career skills and salary, and have more to offer your clients as you go. And it all begins with that first job. Check out online job banks for a glimpse into your bright new future.
